Douglas Fir (DFS) — a warm, golden-toned softwood prized for its straight grain and natural weather resistance. Douglas Fir takes on a graceful silver-grey patina over years of outdoor exposure if left untreated, or holds its amber tone with periodic sealing.

Weathered Grey Spruce (WGS) — pre-finished in a modern matte grey that pairs naturally with contemporary architecture, board-and-batten siding, and minimalist landscaping. The factory finish stabilizes the exterior so the cabin looks consistent year after year with minimal maintenance.

Site & Surface

• Site must be level and well-drained (no water pooling at the cabin base).
• Required floor load: 400.9 – 765.5 lbs/ft² per post. Most installs sit on either a compacted gravel pad with concrete pavers, or a poured concrete slab.
• Compacted gravel installs use the included ground nails. Concrete slab installs require separately-sourced concrete fasteners.
• For any non-gravel, non-concrete installation, consult a structural engineer to confirm wind- and snow-load compliance with local codes.

Electrical

• A dedicated 240V / 50A circuit must be run to the sauna location.
• A NEMA 14-50R female receptacle must be installed at the site (weather-rated, by a licensed electrician).
• The sauna ships with a NEMA SS2-50P male plug head; the homeowner sources a lockable power extension cord (NEMA 14-50P on one end, NEMA SS2-50R on the other) of the appropriate length.
• All electrical work must be completed by a licensed, certified electrician.
