The W-suffix Spirit body pairs with the external Harvia Xenio CX45 Smart Control power unit (bundled in Tier 2 and Tier 3) for full digital scheduling, WiFi/MyHarvia control, and remote start. Sized for the largest residential sauna cabins (5–6 person bench), typically destination wellness spaces or commercial-light spaces from 320 to 530 cubic feet of interior volume.

Why the 9 kW Size

The Spirit 9 kW is rated for sauna cabins between 320 and 530 cubic feet, best for the largest residential sauna cabins (5–6 person bench), typically destination wellness spaces or commercial-light spaces. Calculate your cabin volume as interior length × width × height. If the cabin includes a glass door or window, add roughly 25% to the calculated cubic footage to compensate for radiant heat loss. For smaller cabins step down to the Spirit 6 kW or 8 kW sibling product.

Xenio CX + Fenix Upgrade, What's the Difference?

Tier 2 ("Spirit Heater + Control + Stones") bundles the Harvia Xenio CX30 or CX45 power unit (auto-matched to the heater's amperage: CX30 for 6 kW, CX45 for 8/9 kW). The Xenio CX is Harvia's long-running, field-proven digital control platform, ships with WiFi built in and connects to the MyHarvia smartphone app for remote start and scheduling.

Tier 3 ("Spirit Heater + Control + Stones + Fenix Upgrade") adds the Harvia Fenix FX004XW Touchscreen Display on top of the Xenio CX. The Fenix touchscreen is the platform Harvia is investing in going forward; pairing it with the CX power unit today means you have a familiar, current-production switching base AND a modern, future-proof touchscreen interface in the sauna.

Sauna Stones, Why Rounded

Spirit's signature visual is the bed of rounded sauna stones piled across the top of the heater. Unlike the angular split stones used in most Harvia models, Spirit uses Harvia's R-991 rounded olivine diabase, 5–10 cm river-rock-style stones in 15 kg (33 lb) boxes. The rounded shape produces a softer visual profile and slightly more uniform heat distribution across the stone bed surface.

Every "Spirit Heater + Control + Stones" tier (and the Fenix Upgrade tier) ships with 4 × R-991 boxes, the correct quantity to fill the Spirit stone bed for any of the 6, 8, or 9 kW models. If you'd rather source rounded stones locally, pick the "Spirit Just Heater" tier; R-991 boxes are sold separately.

Installation & Electrical Requirements

The Spirit 9 kW requires a dedicated 240V 1-Phase circuit (37.5 Amps, 8 Gauge Copper) wired by a licensed electrician. Spirit is UL Listed and must be installed per the included manual and local electrical code. Consult the PDF manual below before framing-in.
